Part-Time/Contract Digital Communications Associate

About Humansize:

We are a small-and-mighty communications and fundraising collective with team members across the U.S. Our team has more than two decades of experience partnering with remarkable causes worldwide to create digital campaigns that drive real action. As a purpose-driven collective, Humansize commits at least 10% of our time to pro bono projects focused on centering the equity of historically marginalized people and communities.

About the role:

Humansize is looking for a part-time or contract Digital Communications Associate (5-20 hours per week) to join our growing team. We’re looking for someone with experience managing all aspects of digital communications – from strategy to content creation to project management to performance analysis. Our dream candidate understands how to tell a compelling visual and written story, is passionate about social and environmental justice, finds joy in being a leader in their community, and believe that thoughtful process is essential to impactful work. This role will support our digital communications efforts on behalf of cause-driven organizations around the world.

What will help you be successful in this role:

  • 2+ years of demonstrated bold and tactical digital communications or advocacy experience

  • Experience planning, writing, designing, executing and monitoring content for social platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn)

  • Resourcefulness, organization, and flexibility – along with strong time management skills and an ability to work both independently and collaboratively on tight deadlines

  • Some experience in website maintenance

  • Experience managing time-sensitive and multi-faceted review and approval processes across teams

  • Exceptional attention to detail

  • Demonstrated experience with and passion for working with young people

We hope you bring one or more of these skills:

  • Event planning or digital communications training experience

  • Experience in campaigns, advocacy, and/or elections

  • Experience managing relationships and leveraging professional networks with key organizations to increase reach and efficacy in digital programming

  • Experience working in a virtual environment with a team operating across multiple time zones

  • A demonstrated passion for advocacy work

Pay and details

This contract role pays $50 to $70 per hour based on experience. This is a remote position and requires consistent phone and internet access at your home or office location.
